Brooke Millar My path into teaching my own meditation classes has been full of twists, turns and unexpected opportunities. I began studying Bachelor of Education with the aim to become an art teacher. Life took me in another direction that found me working within a music company for a number of years. I have since been self-employed running my own small businesses that I have successfully created while I raise my family. I now work within a school in Bendigo, supporting children with physical disabilities, behaviours and learning challenges. My interest in meditation and mindfulness began when I was experiencing a very challenging time. My body was under extreme pressure, and I was searching for something to calm my system. I soon realised I had been living within “fight or flight” for most of my life. Mindfulness and meditation have become a way of life for me. I’ve become so devoted to the daily practises of meditation, mindfulness and gratitude. I have felt called to share my skills. The sessions that I teach are relaxed and engaging for students. My aim is to make the meditation classes nurturing and a safe space for children to discuss worries and share goals for the future. "I am committed to promoting gratitude, empathy and mindfulness and sharing my knowledge with my community." |
